Creative Companion:
Youth Mentorship App
Empowering Youth Through Mentorship in Creative Industries.
Our app was selected as a top 10 finalist in a 70-hour Creative Jam hosted by Adobe. Our team of 3 UX Designers designed a platform to help underrepresented youths succeed through mentorship in the creative space. Through our app, high school students are matched with a mentor to empower them to learn professional creative skills, network with companies, create a community of peers, and showcase their creative work.

The Problem
Adobe challenged participants to “design a third-party mobile app to help underrepresented creatives access hiring opportunities, showcases, communities, and/or other resources that ultimately empower them and allow them to thrive.”
Given this prompt, we conducted user research, interviewing 5 diverse creative professionals. We discovered that there is a gap in access to creative education and career opportunities for youth in underrepresented communities. Our team built a platform to bridge that gap through mentorship in the creative space: The Creative Companion.
The Solution
The Creative Companion app matches high school students with a mentor working in a creative field to empower them to learn professional creative skills, network with companies, create a community of peers, and showcase their creative projects.
